Be my guest!
21th July is a very important day, because it's the day when I set up this page. The Internet still remembers the old name, daydreaming., which showed up as a base of titles of posts, you may take it as a curiosity, unless you didn't visit the AUTHOR card. In relation to that special day for me, round, 5th anniversary, I've prepared five figures made with mixed media, which are fineliner, watercolur pencils and ink.
15x21 cm
Martol watercolour pencils
KOH I NOOR inks
Canson Student textured drawing paper
GRAPH 'IT black fineliner 005
This idea had come to my mind much earlier, in the school year. I was up to make a film poster, I prepared a good concept, unfortunately realization was illegible, didn't fit to the form, so I decided it will be better to leave it and transform into decents illustrations. I've always avoided ink, but I must amdit that now I can't imagine it not among my painting media, so soon will come out a KOH I NOOR inks review, which I used there and at abstract actions you can find in Dream Factory.

The work was very pleasant, of course I wasn't in hurry, cuz I've been working with water. After making a pencil sketch I selected more important parts, then I filled whole with a dry watercolour pencil softened with water and, after dry up, I put the last layer - ink. Previously I've been softening crayon or even not and it was the end of the work, here it was important to me to achieve a very intense color and to emphasize shadows, which inks could do. I found out that my crayons' tints fit perfectly to my inks, so I chose five, which create a beautiful color palette and interfuse in each other. About the same inks using soon.
Before I went ahead with work, I'd made a probe with comparison of both products' colors, kind of help, kind of not. It's well apparent on the pink and red example - after crayon's softening pink got lighter, downright neon, in the comparison to ink it changed its tint entirely, so that figure is much more contrastive and the red one crayon was more intense than before what caused that ink dissapeared and I had to apply it repeatedly. In another cases there was no problem, so it was a more pleasant work. The paper, which I've used is dedicated to draw, but its texture convinced me to lay the water on it, 160g/m2 is at least a half not enough to that kind of actions, but I handled with possible wrinkling up by backing leafs with a cardboards.
It starts the next Week with an artist on my facebook, where I show up some extra materials, so I encourage you to give me some thumbs up and stay with me for a longer time. BODY cycle is now available on the OFFER card and next time I will tell you something about that magical moment in every art school student's life, about the overview...
